NEWS & EVENTS

You've Been Flocked!

Flamingos invaded the area in early January temporarily taking up residence at area homes and businesses.

The flocks of Flamingos are brought to locations after a small donation has been made.  Once on location, the Flamingos stay until the resident or business owner pays to have one of the City's highly trained Flamingo Removal Technicians to come and transport these birds to their next destination.

Afraid of being flocked?  Flocking Insurance is also available to protect yourself against an unexpected flocking.

Valentine's Basket of Love

A beautiful basket filled with goodies such as gourmet crackers and cheese, candy, candles, a stuffed animal, heart balloon, and a gift certificate to Cypress Cafe was raffled off.  The winner was drawn on Monday, February 10, 2014 and was Charlie Cornelius.

Red Beans & Rice Lunch

It was red beans & rice Monday on February 10, 2014 when the City Team made some delicious red beans and rice with sausage, corn bread, coleslaw, and refreshing iced tea.  Plates were sold for $7 and were available for dine in or carry out.

City employees donated all of the food for preparation, as well as their time to cook the beans.   And thanks to the many people who came out in support of the event, nearly $700 was raised!

Christmas Gift Wrapping

During the month of December, the City Team provided a service to people in the community by wrapping their Christmas gifts at City Hall.

Nearly 100 people signed up for the service which was provided for a donation to Relay For Life from the recipient.
